Charlotte Makes Top Sweaties Cities List

According to a recent study conducted by the makers of Honeywell Fans (and scientists from Environmental Health & Engineering Consulting Group), our very own Charlotte, NC made the top 10 list of Top Sweatiest Cities. Here's an excerpt from the article featured on Women's Health Magazine Online:

"They reviewed data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association’s National Climatic Data Center and the U.S. Census Bureau.

Researchers also looked at a slew of environmental factors such as average temperature and humidity levels during summer, population and housing density, and average wind speed (which can help cool you off when it’s hot out). Where you live obviously can influence how much you sweat, they reasoned, but so does how many buildings are in your area, which can trap heat and make you sticky.

After carefully considering all of the above factors, here’s the list they devised of the top 10 sweatiest cities in America:

1. Tampa
2. Miami
3. Houston
4. San Diego
5. Orlando
6. Washington, D.C.
7. Raleigh, North Carolina
8. Los Angeles
9. Dallas
10. Charlotte, North Carolina"

So what does that mean for those of us that live in these sweaty cities? Well, aside from more deodorant, it also means that we need to be that much more aware of our hydration status.
